I appreciate that Buck calls out the hypocrisy of the current trans "gender" movement, and directly says "I am female, I am a lesbian, but I identify as a man". Buck identifies and relates with transsexualism and the binary repeatedly, which does sorta feel like support.

What's frustrating is how Buck keeps saying that this is tearing the trans community apart, and keeps falling back on the mantra "trans women are women". Despite a few points about listening to "cis women" and how there are concerns with self-ID, it's clear that Buck has still internalized much of the TQ+ dogma and isn't acknowledging how LGB are impacted and biological sex is being compromised.

I don't blame Buck for choosing a specific tribe and promoting it. I just wish Buck would STFU with pandering to females and lesbians while not standing up for any of us. We can read the writing on the wall, and we aren't fooled. Buck keeps focusing on societal acceptance of trans people, and the negativity (TERF, transphobe, etc) being spewed and how it shuts down conversation ... instead of how identity doesn't change biology, and how the very tribe Buck is a part of (and the language being used) is erasing us.

34 mins in, there's a part where Chaos and Buck start talking about lesbians and Storme, and then Malcom/Marsha. Buck says how trans "gender" wasn't a thing and isn't correct to describe anyone back then ... but then backpedals into how there are different types of trans, each are valid, and how the umbrella term just isn't personally useful.

I feel like there's a bigger message about growth and self-acceptance that Buck is trying to promote, which I do admir, but playing both sides of the political and social fence with LGBT at the same time isn't helping. It's actually blurring the lines even further and creating a state of uncertainty. I can't figure out whether Buck is focusing on safety and mental health for LGBT people overall, or is Buck being a middle-party to a critical dialogue between LGB-vs-TQ+. Maybe it's both, and if it is, it doesn't feel right to me. Like it or not, Buck is now seen as an icon or a leader, so an actual concrete stance is needed.

The problem is that she is trying to reconcile truth (biology, hard science, she's objectively female) with self-identification (feelings of inferiority, she wants to be seen as a man, i.e. male). That's why "trans women" are not women and "trans men" are not men. We cannot reconcile incompatible things.

You're really comfortable calling Buck "she"?

Countless genderists have invoked Buck Angel as proof that TMAM. "Would you be comfortable sharing a restroom with someone who looks like Buck Angel?" they demand. "Would you, as a lesbian, be attracted to someone who looks like Buck Angel?" When I first waded into the GC vs. QT fray, I didn't have a clear mental picture of Buck Angel, so I did a Google Image search, which means that I have seen quite a bit of Buck Angel's vulva. So yup, I'm pretty darn comfortable calling her "she."

the problem with the umbrella is that it puts too many things under the umbrella of trangender, which is why they feel fine transing Malcom and storme. We who are older know it was LGB playing with non gender conformity, and not a desire to live as the other sex. That was the danger from moving from accepting transmeds and then moving the definition away from dsyphoria. Now everyone gets in to the lgbtq+++ club.

It seems like Buck is backpedaling. Buck was supportive of J.K. when she was getting the major hostile backlash but it looks like he really did drink the trans koolaid.

This interview is older than the JK Rowling controversy, recorded in February. If anything, it looks to me like Buck has hardened his stance over time.
