So I'd say the transgender concept is not opposite of homosexuality, because sexuality is simply a phenomenon. Transgenderism is more like off to the side and on another plane from homosexuality.

Indeed, I'd take YOUR take even further: transgenderism is off to the side and on another plane from sexual orientation as a whole.

Because, whether it's homosexuality, bisexuality, or heterosexuality, what do they all have in common? Being based on biological sex (one's own combined with that of those to whom one is attracted), NOT "gender". Since that's what "sexual orientation" means.

I don't know WHAT the hell "transgenderism" is, to be honest. But we can all be sure of one thing: a sexual orientation, it ain't.

That's right. Sex and sexuality are natural phenomenons that we objectively observe -- fundamental truths. Transgenderism is a concept which is subjectively interpreted. In order for something to oppose an other, shared attributes are required. Comparing sex/sexuality to transgenderism is like comparing the qualities of an orange to the recipe for Tang.
