I think it's acceptable to criticize the concept of "trans rights" and to question what, exactly, they think they've a right to. Individuals are the ones who have rights, categories of individuals do not. Reason being that, if groups have rights over individuals, then the concept of "a right" ceases to be coherent (it becomes a privilege). You start having superiority, instead of individual freedom.

Put another way, "Human rights" are the only rights that do, or ought to, exist. I would say, instead of "trans rights are human rights", that "human rights are trans rights". Given how frequently it seems to me that trans activists declare transphobia from homosexual men and women not finding the opposite sex attractive in spite of their ideas about themselves, it certainly seems to me that by "trans rights" they mean trans people demand special right to demand attraction from people not attracted to them. Also, to demand you think of them as they do. Meanwhile, no individual has the right to your attraction, let alone a right to your thoughts, let alone to demand you see someone as they see themselves.

Thus, in my view, "trans rights" aren't about rights. They're about control.
