Why the FUCK wont everyone move here

Im still on reddit but it doesnt make sense to ignore this site completely. We would be proving a point that we aren't putting up with getting banned. The mods are clowns. I.T still just screenshotting shit on reddit. We need to give them less ammo and stop talking about them and stop using reddit all together in the future.

incels was always the original subreddit. braincels was made after that one was banned and it's a mark of censorship, trying to use a diff name to avoid a ban.. why would we use that name on here?

I migrated to incels.co, and although I did get approved to join by the mods, the community there was very hostile to the newcomers.

Lots of “you are not welcome here” posts from the longtime users, and comments like “can’t wait for all the newbies to be purged”.

After getting a few warnings for stupid shit like “I don’t like your profile pic”, I knew a ban was inevitable. And when I did get banned, they said in the sidebar that you get two free ban appeals automatically, but nope, they fuckin permabanned me on my first slip-up

Let's be real, the main reason people aren't joining is they are followers, normalfags. They see the low subscriber count and declare it insufficiently "popular" to join. Once we hit a critical point of around 1000 subscribers and there is good daily OC, people will be much more likely to join.

Here's two honest problems with saidit I see as a webdevcel:

1) the thumbnails for posts are not full size, they are cut off for some reason, and it's consistent with most posts, you can see maybe 50% of it. Also drag and drop for files for img upload would be nice instead of just an explicit file upload button, actually I would say that's a huge missing part.

2) the top banner needs to not be black, it gives off a dark mode vibe even if it's not in dark mode. And dark mode currently doesn't even make the background dark, just the sidebar, at least on desktop.

Thanks for the honest feedback. Let me explain some of these:

1) The thumbnails only cut off tall images, that are taller than the 1:1 aspect ratio.

Drag and drop for image upload is a great idea, it actually currently works if you drag-drop to the upload button itself. But we may expand it to a larger part of the page for convenience.

2) We might change the banner someday. The background change in nightmode works everywhere on saidit except this sub because of the sub CSS they chose to use here.

I agree, I think that regardless of what everyone else is doing, it's important that we maintain a presence here, even if it's slow and difficult endeavor.

It might be a slow moving process now, but I see a future in which the stability of this board becomes a virtue since there's no other site that's both open to everyone and not subject to unnecessary banning.

At the very least it gives the incel community a persistent and unfettered communication channel to help keep everyone organized in the midst of this "Incel Diaspora" (can we call it that?).
