This was something I wanted to see on reddit. People often complained that the voting system was a problem for this or that reason. Creating a framework to allow different subs to experiment with different voting schemes would probably have us end up with some useful and neat voting systems.
Not sure how technically difficult this would be, but I wanted to post the idea.
Even allowing any flexibility in the voting scheme for individual subs could be neat. (People tried to disable the downvote button on their subs in reddit with custom css, for example, as one kind of simple flexibility in the voting system).
And if this idea isn't appropriate for Saidit, perhaps it would be appropriate for some other alternative social media system out there.
