I almost choked when I read the authors claim that "gender inequality" did not accumulate across generations - yeah- maybe because gender inequality has been a constant since before we were humans, with the exception of a tiny % of matriarchal societies.

Dominance due to race has changed across generations, cultures and locations, but male dominance over females has remained a constant and all-encompassing oppression, so I guess the authors are kind of right.

"Gender inequality" doesn't accumulate across generations? What? Have these people not heard of primogeniture, a system where all a family's wealth - plus its titles - is inherited by the eldest male child? A practice that is still a thing in the UK today.

Don't they know that it used to be that only male children got to finish their education & go on to university - if girl children got to go to school at all, they were pulled out of school to help out at home, care for elderly & sick relatives, or sent out to work as domestics or governesses.

"Gender inequality" or rather the repercussions of sexism & misogyny in families not only accumulates over generations, it affects both sexes. For example, growing up in families/cultures where it's routine for dads to beat, rape & verbally abuse moms is toxic to boys as well as girls. The death of a woman who dies in childbirth due to lack of access to medical care will have a permanent effect on her surviving children. If a woman dies by her own hand coz of misogynistic trauma & no escape from further misogyny & trauma, her kids' mental health will be severely impacted - & if they have kids, the grief & inherited trauma will pass down to their own issues on.

These people have no idea what women's lives were like before women had access to BC & abortion. Generation after generation of women having no control over their bodies, giving birth to & raising tons of kids, neither the moms or any of the kids getting their needs met.
