Another no-paywall article from the world's most-read (or used to be most-read) website DAILY MAIL:

Trans prisoners 'shouldn't be allowed on female wings because they are disproportionately likely to commit sexual assaults on women', High Court hears https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9316145/Trans-prisoners-disproportionately-likely-commit-sexual-assaults-women-High-Court-hears.html?ito=amp_twitter_share-top

trans inmates account for one per cent of the population of the women's estate but "they are responsible for 5.6 per cent of sexual assaults".

So, there are about 3000 women in prison, there are not 30 TIMS in UK women's prisons. Most are still in the male ones about 125 plus rn.

The MoJ said: 'Since 2010, out of the 124 sexual assaults that occurred in the female estate a total of seven of those were sexual assaults against females in custody perpetrated by transgender individuals.'

From another article... Which rather ignores they weren't allowed into women's prisons until 2016. It's also not mentioned that a lot of those sex offences were carried out by males, which is why it's not saying 'committed by female prisoners' there.

So the percentage of assaults committed by TIM prisoners VS female prisoners is way, way higher than that article says.

The hearing, taking place before Lord Justice Holroyde and Mr Justice Swift, was told that there were 125 trans prisoners in 2017, 60 of whom were serving sentences for sexual offences. Of those 60, 27 were serving a prison sentence for rape.

Yes.. taking into account the number of TIMs in the UK, which seems to be about 50k-100k, this gives them the standard male sex offending risk, or higher.

The exact numbers: around 80K male prisoners, 15-20% are sex offenders. Of which 60 are TIMs.

That's 1/276 to 1/200 of the male sex offenders.

Trans make up about 1/500 of the general population according to GIRES.

Or.. 60 out of 100k..

We have 0.06% of TIMs inside to this (1/1,667) Vs 0.05 cismale, or 1/1,980.

So more likely to be sex offenders.

I don't have the exact number convicted of forcible rapes, but my gut feeling is that it's at least several hundred times the rate of serious sexual assaults commited by adult women against other women.

However, Sarah Hannett, representing the MoJ, said the claim was based on "a tiny data sample of seven sexual assaults over ... a four-year period", from which it was "impossible to draw any meaningful conclusion".

When it's a tiny data sample concerning TWOC it's listed as an epidemic.

The woman in the story will probably have ten years added to her sentence for hate crimes against TW. That would be my guess.
