James Lindsay, part of the team who did the academic hoax papers, is keeping track of how post-modernism, etc., is conquering hard science and other formerly fact-based departments in academia.

Personally, I find Lindsay a hypocrite because he claims to be for complete free speech, but some topics are off limits, but I think he's doing a valuable service pointing out how science itself is being corrupted by the "muh feelings" crowd.

Imagine their physics department. Surely gravity is taught as a social construct by now. What kills me is there are masses of young folks eager not only to nod along but to get hostile if you challenge them on it.

Someone please tell my ovary that's been killing me for the last week and my several diseases that nearly exclusively affect women that they can pack up and go home because my sex is a social construct. I'd love to not be in crippling pain over a silly social construct. I never should have "opted into" the female body I guess.

This leads to so much victim blaming it's ridiculous; the 27% of female victims of sexual assault must have opted into the wrong sex. The 81% who have been sexually harassed could have just "chosen" to be male instead and had that figure cut nearly in half by this logic. We all know assaulters and harassers always ask your correct sex of choice first, else there wouldn't be such disparity in the numbers.

There was a TiF in the UK who told her attacker that she was really a man, but he didn't buy it and raped her anyway. The TiF was baffled as to why her attacker didn't acknowledge her male identity. True story.

Honestly, this whole "sex is a social construct" and "a woman is whoever identifies as one" has been giving me an identity crisis. Am I really a woman? Does sex really exist?

Then I snap out of it and go "fuck that, science exists."

That's why so many women are declaring themselves "non binary" now.

Berkeley ranks very highly consistently, but it's always been a bit...well, Berkeley.
