"Report her, she's spreading misinformation with no scientific grounds"

Oh fuck off. The doctor HAS to mention this stuff so the patient is aware of what they're doing to themselves so they're not liable for a lawsuit. Mad respect to the doctor and I hope she doesn't lose her job over standard procedure.

ETA: The delusion is strong:

After a while penile inversion undergoes metaplasia. Have you noticed metaplasia? Many trans girls have a vaginal mucus inside after 10 years post op

LOL, no.

I tried to explain to her that both components are analogous. A penis and a vagina are not that different. They have the same tissue. It's the configuration that makes us dysphoric.

Yeah, mansplaining anatomy to a Dr. will work to convince her of his delusion.

I'm tempted to drop a link to r/manmadepussy there, but they'll probably think those horrors look like the real deal. It's like they have face-blindness for genitals.

A penis and a vagina are not that different.

It's not like evolution had a precise reason for making them different or anything.

Human penises have evolved for the reproductive purposes of penetration and delivery of seminal fluid containing sperm into the female reproductive tract, & also for male urination. Human vaginas have also evolved for various reproductive purposes, including menstruation, facilitation of the delivery of seminal fluid near the cervix so sperm can swim onwards to the Fallopian tubes where an egg might be found & fertilized, and childbirth - a pretty remarkable feat in which the muscular vagina expands to many times its normal diameter. Females, however, do not urinate from the vagina the way males do from the penis. And if the average male penis had to expand to the diameter of the average incredibly elastic vagina during childbirth, the male organ would explode/be totally shredded - and not in a good way - then would never recover or function again. But hey, a penis really is just an "outie birth canal" innit?

My arm is homologous to a bird's wing, we have the same bones and even some muscles, can I get surgery and be able to fly?

"What do you mean, don't jump off a building with my surgically created birdwing-arms?! You're being birdphobic, I'll show you I can fly if it's the last thing I do!"

At this point why don't say that you're a potato too since humans share over 90% of DNA. It's all in the configuration lol.

Don't people say the percentage of biological difference between man and woman equals the percentage between a man and a chimpanzee? Therefore all men are chimpanzees! /s

Oh no no no. One of the few subs I wish my curiosity hadnt gotten the best of me. The first pic I saw was apparently one that had orgasmed and I 🤢🤮🤮🤮. I still havent seen one that looks "cis". All of them even if they look ok are usually way too high.

[–]TurkishCoffee 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Curiosity got the better of me too. There were one or two that were like "...that's a little odd, but, that looks mostly what I expect those parts to look like" and a lot of "wtf is the deal with that" and a couple were nightmare fuel. And yeah, i saw that one too. Holy crap. I can't even ..i didn't even try to figure out how you arrived at that configuration of anatomy. I could have died a happy woman not seeing that.

Well, that definitely puts to bed definitively in my book the notion that any of these people are fooling anyone who is well versed in female anatomy. (Which I didn't buy but they sure do like to peddle)

r/manmadepussy

OMFG that is an actual sub????? And I thought that site where men posted pictures of screwdrivers stuck in their urethras (not making that up) was Peak Internet.

I just looked at r/manmadepussy . What the fuck! It's worse than I ever imagined. I wonder is we will soon be made to add a trigger warning is we use the word delutional.

WHAT. THE. FUCK. This people are insane and straight up delusional. Jesus, poor doctor!!!!!!!!!!

Right? It's like when a doctor explains that, in a worst case scenario, a surgery could end up in the death of the patient and the patient screams, "THIS DOCTOR IS A PSYCHOPATH!!"

[–]moody_ape 22 insightful - 2 fun22 insightful - 1 fun23 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

this is exactly how delusion works. no matter what you say, the delusional person's beliefs stay the same. doctors are blamed for malpractice no matter what they do or say. "the results might be a disaster" or "the results will be wonderful" are both 'malpractice' for TRAs.

[–]meranii 15 insightful - 1 fun15 insightful - 0 fun16 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

That doctor never harmed or shamed the TiM patient in any way, in fact I think there was some real human concern for the patient. Finding a doc like that when I've had actual medical issues (that were not a choice like taking hormones because you're a guy who wants boobs) has often been difficult and the ones that take their time are a godsend.

TRAs are putting a lot of pressure on medical workers to just give them what they want and to never ask questions or give advice, all the while making appointment after appointment for their hormones. Honestly wish general practitioners could just opt out of wasting their time on gender-obsessed patients who clog up the system with elective stuff.

I really do think girldick is a far healthier response to transness than SRS for most people. Keep it! Enjoy it! Accept that lesbians don't want it! Be discreet with it in shared spaces! Simple!

[–]meranii 8 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Ikr, enjoy your own functioning girldick and make believe as much as you want, leave the rest of us out of it (and it out of us). Sadly they start believing their own fantasies.

Think of the new opportunities for cosmetics companies to make money-- Presenting the Lavern Cox collection: lipstick and stickstick in matching colors! coordinated blushes for above and below! Tools to shape more than just eyebrows!

I am sure someone is working on a lovely makeup line for transwomen. It'll be really nice stuff with maybe people like that Stef Youtuber and Laverne as models.

Then, there will be a lot of angry articles written about how it's violent and wrong to have makeup lines expressly for TW because it will out them and other them and mainstream makeup lines should just include beard cover creams. Also if a mainstream brand eg MAC does it they will be accused of pandering and making money out of a minority. There will be a lot of shouting and the line will probably quietly die.

Meanwhile TW who would actually really like makeup catering to their needs will continue to go without.

Doctor, can surgery make my nose smaller? Yes. Doctor, can surgery remove some of the fat deposits under my chin? Yes. Doctor, can surgery correct my lazy eye? Most likely. Doctor, can surgery turn me into the opposite sex? No. And it can't make you younger, able to fly, invisible, immortal, or psychic either. This is medicine, not science fiction. Here's the number of a good therapist. Bye.
