Sadly, I recognize a good deal from what she wrote. I have experienced some of it myself in various jobs, though I have never been hit with all of it at once. This is fight we cannot win. We can only leave and put our talents to better use.

Sounds about right. Can we stop pretending the west coast is some utopia or blueprint for women’s rights? Sexism and woman hate is very rampant here. The only women who are welcome are the ones men can sexualize. Any independent woman who holds a job isn’t supported by the nearby infrastructure. The lack of availability for childcare and the fact that I don’t see older women here highlights this.

I wonder if this is why their site design has become totally unusable. If you stop listening to your users (70% women in this case), you're going to lose them.

Men in tech usually look down on user experience.

They deserve it, tbh. I haven't used pinterest in years, and now finding out that the decision makers are a sexist "boy's club", I'm not gonna use it again.

There is a reason that women do not negotiate as hard as men for higher pay. It is not because we are not good negotiators. As I would learn at Pinterest, it is because we get punished when we do.

Happens a lot and usually, HR covers it up.
