Genuine transphobia from male centred/right wing sub-reddits is fine?

I used to occasionally peruse reddit on subs I wouldn't normally out of curiosity and some of the things said were grim and would have got you a ban on Gender Critical. It is depressing how hated anything female centric is. The bar for being trans-phobic is very low for women.

Exactly. Reddit had countless posts with people saying they didn't believe it was possible for humans to change sex, or that male bodied people shouldn't be competing in male sports. Nobody cared. These posts were often (more often than not) highly upvoted. Their problem is with women standing up for ourselves and this latest banwave couldn't make that clearer. Meanwhile, I was once called a transphobe because I used the word 'uterus' when talking about my OWN body.

You see the difference when male public figures speak out too. The replies are always "I know you mean well, but..." or "This is a bad take, but I still love your work". A woman instantly gets cancelled and sent rape threats.

All I can hope is that more and more libfems will see this for what it is because at this point they're not even trying to pretend otherwise.

It's also quite funny to note that people across reddit people are allowed to post "transphobic" comment in other subs, but as soon as someone makes the same critiques in gender critical it is massively transphobic and LiTeRaL vIoLeNcE. Anyone else remember when r/sports had that article about trans women in women's sports? So many people were openly admitting that trans women had no business being in women's sports and that was fine. This is just one example that I can recall.

It's internalized misogyny and the gatekeeper thing. In the minds of TRAs, they think everyone who has the GC view is probably white, conservative women (I'm not and from what I could tell GC sub was very diverse). If they find out we're not white, they'll brush it off as they don't know any better, they're just uncivilized (colonialist attitude much?) when in fact any country not in the west is GC, even in the west, only the left is GC. I see TiMs debate men all the time with bad science and logic, but any woman who expresses the same thing is met with the t-word. It's the only form of misogyny that the left approves of now, so they really have at it.

As real women we have the power to define the word woman. Deep down, they know they're not female and they'll attack everyone who breaks their fantasy. They can scream TWAW as much as they want, but they're not going to be if real women don't accept it. But if real women stay silent, they can demand as much as they want without any pushback. The new Stonewall leader said she's not going to make converting people over to their gender view a priority as her predecessor had, and this only happened because UK women said no.
