Yeah, you can thank EA for me not buying games day one. I really wanted to buy Diablo 4 but I held strong, thank god!
TBO, I'm finding I'm playing way more indie games. BattleBit is insanely good, Hallowed Knight, Rimworld, FTL, Into the breach, Factorio and Satisfactory to name a few.
The last AAA game I bought was Borderlands 3 which I play with friends. (Got the whole bundle with DLC on sale a year ago.) I also play Halo but it was free.
This article claims that the pendulum has swung in favor of game makers but I disagree, at least for PC players. I paid $30 to Borderlands 3 with all the DLC. Also it had been patched and worked perfect. I call that a win. You just need patience.

I only buy games once a year, black Friday.
And i make sure the games im buying are at their lowest they have ever been.
I refuse to buy new games, unless they are "must haves" for me.

You probably know about these already, but https://isthereanydeal.com and https://gg.deals are great tools for tracking the sale price of games and you can set a notification once a game reaches a certain price.

The last game I remember paying more than $20 for was Duke Nukem Forever, because I preordered it. There have only been a couple games I bought at full price since then, and they have all been indy games, $20 or less.
