Hey mods can we get a ruling on whether using the wrong pronouns for trans people counts as misgendering?

Hey mods, can you explain why gc can’t use sex based pronouns because it’s considered misgendering, but qt can call us cis, even though we repeatedly request that they don’t?

And can you explain the “no misogyny” rule?

Transfolk are free to ask people to use pronouns referencing the sex they were not born as. But no one is required to comply. It is not "misgendering" to decline to "missex" someone.

I was not aware of the rules at the time after I was I changed them. The others don’t care about their rule violations and have not changed their statements.

I personally disagree. I became a mod later and didn't write the rule with them but only enforced it when someone used as an ad hominem. We could expand the rule in that way. Things are moving fast right now but we'll find a solution.

I did not write those rules. I invited one of the original GC mods from the Reddit version of this sub and left it to them. They brought in some QT mods. They wrote the rules together. I didn't like those rules because they are slanted towards the QT, but i figured i'd see how it worked out. And it seemed to work fine up until reently. Unfortunately, the original GC mod seems to have left Saidit completely and i have not been able to find a replacement yet. So it appears i need to make some changes.
