This is so bad that it could be a candidate for criminal sabotage. How does someone with such terrible skills get the job to do something like this?

I was thinking the same.

Could be an attack against Christian artwork. They destroyed many works in the "accidental" Norte Dame cathedral fire.

This particular job feels like the artist who "restored" the painting is mocking me for finding the original aesthetically pleasing.

We'd never know if it was unless you could find some way to blame Muslims or Islam, just saying...
