Indeed, and the more power they accumulate the more hypocrisy they utilize to protect and obfuscate it. Like a minimum wage, I'd bet if there was a maximum wage, we'd see a lot less of this and less corruption of the sciences and academics (and a hole lot of new loop hole corruption trying to work around the maximum).
