I think we will eventually discover that the reason fasting works to cure so many illnesses is because we are systematically being poisoned. Either through contamination from pesticides, or intentionally to create or expand the market for drugs.

Jews have been know throughout history to poison the well for many reasons.

Edit: to clarify, the pause in poison allows our bodies to recover.
