Getting better gaming temps by limiting CPU wattage?

Hi guys, I've been going back and forth between getting a Zephyrus G15 and M16, and the gorgeous 16:10 screen is really pulling me over to this side.

However, I'm concerned about the apparently crazy thermals on this device. Given my use case of gaming as the most demanding activity I'll be doing with the device, would it be possible to significantly limit the wattage on the Intel CPU without hurting performance and greatly improving thermals?

I don't mind getting performance levels of a Ryzen 9 6900HS if it means thermals would be so much bearable (and fan noise as well).

Thoughts?

The world used to be divided between the free West and the unfree East. Later only the USA was a free country. Now half of the US hates freedom. Soon just Southern New Hampshire will be free. Later the Libertarians will need to buy a sailboat to be free or flee and scatter to the Sahara, Siberia, and the Amazon and wait to be hunted down by tyrannical Nazis and Commies.
