Very interesting compilation of graphs showing the development of many serious national financial problems, most of which apparently started exactly in 1971

[–]DffrntDrmmr 7 insightful - 3 fun7 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 3 fun -  (35 children)

Interesting.

Also, what the fuck happened in 1981? There's a noticeable change in graph trends during the 80's, too.

Oh, I know what happened. "Voodoo economics," trickle-down theory, "deficits don't matter" — Reaganomics.

Also, your mom started sucking dick. Fucking Liberal Faggot.

Are you trying to get banned, beermeem? I'm certain you are aware this kind of childish useless garbage is not tolerated in the wider Saiditverse.

[–]beermeem 2 insightful - 3 fun2 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

This is my most upvoted comment of the past week! I think people understand "context." You, child.

[–]magnora7[S] 6 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 2 fun -  (13 children)

Yeah you can do better... calling people names isn't really winning people over to your point of view like you might think, in fact it might be doing the opposite

[–]beermeem 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (12 children)

Fascinating concept, fine sir.

What was it you thought I was doing?

[–]magnora7[S] 6 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 2 fun -  (10 children)

I thought you were expressing your viewpoint, but instead now it sounds like you're making yourself look like a jerk while intentionally breaking site rules by repeatedly dragging discussion down the pyramid of debate? Can you really not figure out a way to convey your viewpoint without insulting and attacking others like a child? I don't have an infinite tolerance for this sort of behavior.

[–]beermeem 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (9 children)

I'm not.

[–]magnora7[S] 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (8 children)

You literally just said as much, and now you're lying to me about it.

Be the change you want to see in the world.

[–]beermeem 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (7 children)

Every other word out of this guy's mouth is Zionist this, Zionist that. Literal hate speech against muh peeple. And I'm not allowed to call him a faggot?

[–]magnora7[S] 6 insightful - 4 fun6 insightful - 3 fun7 insightful - 4 fun -  (5 children)

Faggot is a smear, Zionist is an ideology. No one calls themselves a faggot, lots of people call themselves Zionists.

Repeatedly dragging discussion down the pyramid of debate is against site rules. I'm merely giving you a pre-warning, because your behavior brings down the quality of discussion on some threads quite significantly. If you are able to stop that (which I know you can, because I've seen your other comments that are very insightful and thoughtful) then there's no problem. But if you're just going to hurl insults at people (with no accompanying substance otherwise) any time you have a disagreement, then we will have to eventually part ways. Those have always been the rules, and we do this because we want a place where people can real discuss issues like clear-headed adults, not fling tribalistic insults at each other like a bunch of schoolchildren.

yep, 4chan reject. Did you get IP banned and not have the spare cash money for a VPN?

sperging like a faggot

/u/magnora7 ^ ^ pyramid of debate worthy, I'd say this is a sound argument. /s

Refreshing.

Though, I should point out, I'm not particularly liberal. I'm at the midpoint of the liberal/conservative dichotomy.

[–]beermeem 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

Are you? Proof or ban.

A rising tide lifts all boats.

[–]DffrntDrmmr 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I don't know how one would prove something like that, but somewhere I have images of two different political compass tests that scored me at the center of the left/right libertarian/authoritarian dichotomies.

I registered as an independent at 18 and have never joined any political group or adopted any ideology — but I'm a bit fond of America and think the Enlightenment thinkers were... well, enlightened. So I champion democracy/capitalism (but I'm not a Laissez-faire ideologue. I favor regulations that protect the greater good).

Some of my views you wouldn't consider "liberal" — certainly not far left — which you may or may not notice at some point along the way.

I'll post those test scores if I can.

[–]bobbobbybob 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

why not just take his word for it?

I get the feeling you are some kind of 4chan reject.

[–]bobbobbybob 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

someone has a bit of an issue.

I'm all for calling faggots out, but only with good reason.

[–]Jesus 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

1981? NEOCONS, war and defense expenditure and the trickle down lie.

[–]beermeem 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (7 children)

Voodoo economics was a term coined by George "HW" Bush and is a policy most lovingly embraced by the Clintons. Fucking bleeding heart shill.

Your hero killed Kennedy and tried to assassinate the second best President of our Lifetime. The cognitive dissonance of You People is astounding.

[–]DffrntDrmmr 6 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

Even David Stockman, Reagan's Budget Director and the architect of tax-cuts-for-the-rich, trickle-down economic theory, has been saying for years it was misguided and wrecked the economy.

Reagan ballooned the national debt and greatly widened the income gap. (See for yourself in the charts).

During Reagan's presidency, the federal debt nearly tripled in nominal terms, from $738 billion to $2.1 trillion. This led to the U.S. moving from the world's largest international creditor to the world's largest debtor nation.

I have no idea what you're trying to say about Kennedy.

As for "the second best president" — surely you don't mean Reagan. While I agree he had an great personality and was as likeable as they come, the country is still suffering from his policies.

And then there was the corruption.

The presidency of Ronald Reagan was marked by multiple scandals, resulting in the investigation, indictment, or conviction of over 138 administration officials, the largest number for any U.S. president. Wikipedia

[–]beermeem 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

What's Federal Debt?

I certainly don't mean Clinton I. Or Bush I. Or Bush II.

[–]DffrntDrmmr 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Reagan and Bush II increased the debt and deficit the most by providing tax cuts while increasing expenditures. The federal government is primarily financed by tax revenue.

Clinton actually reduced the debt as percentage of gross domestic product (GDP) by increasing tax revenues and decreasing spending.

[–]Jesus 5 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

Kennedy was a cool dude, unfortunately he was hated by right-wing Zionists Likudniks, Neocons, old time republicans, the CIA, mafia, etc.

I have a post on who killed him and his brother and the various other Kennedys.

[–]beermeem 2 insightful - 3 fun2 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

Well, at least we still have Robert, Jr.

You People

ah, to have a child's view of the world must be so comforting.

[–]bobbobbybob 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I have a vague feeling that the UN started implementing monetary policy ideas around the world. specifically the idea of debt backed money issuance, something that has fucked everyone.
