the gays

[–]Jesus 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (12 children)

Actually, they consume like crazy. They help the economy.

[–]beermeem 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (11 children)

/u/magnora7 and this is OK? fucking seriously. I can't call people fags or talk about how much I love to suck dick but it's okay "WITHIN THE PYRAMID" that some guy who is a complete asshole to everyone on this site can say that GAYS CONSUME LIKE CRAZY AND HELP the economy.

[–]magnora7[S] 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (9 children)

Now you're just trying to manufacture smears against others by complaining to the admins, after you yourself go around calling others names? Not a great look.

[–]beermeem 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (8 children)

I'm not the one who this looks bad on.

[–]Jesus 6 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 2 fun -  (7 children)

SOmeone, not me, wrote gays. I followed it up with something to substantiate his fragment. I was simply illustrating that gays ARE NOT the cause for all the woes seen in those graphs.

It is true that gay people consume a lot. Get your mind out of the gutter. They are heavy consumers and buy at a greater frequency than heterosexuals in the lwoer middle class.

At least I'm not calling people liberal faggots like you are.

[–]DffrntDrmmr 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

If there is no victim, is there a crime?

I was/am in no way offended. In fact, I found it funny and assumed it was meant that way. Regardless, it's not personal and sometimes we just release our thoughts uncensored, politically-correct or not.

Also, otherwise, I've noticed very insightful and informed comments by him.

"Though I may disagree with what you say, I will defend to the death your right to say 'liberal faggot.'"

[–]Jesus 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

The point is, there are rules here, and like YouTube abd other things, they are incorproated. Hence, they can screw you anyway they please through their terms of service. If you disagree, then you want communism and the erasure of private property.

So, that being said, Saidit's rules are to follow the pyramid of debate, so it doesn't turn into something like Voat.

[–]DffrntDrmmr 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I understand.

It should be noted, too, that right after that post he followed it up with a substantive comment that fit the "pyramid of debate," without any response from me yet.

I still think this is much ado about nothing.

[–]beermeem 1 insightful - 4 fun1 insightful - 3 fun2 insightful - 4 fun -  (2 children)

But you call them gay consumers?

[–]Jesus 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Consumers who are gay, or homosexuals who consume. We are all consumers.

[–]DffrntDrmmr 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

*consumers of gay

[–]bobbobbybob 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

True. No kids = spare cash

No kids = can have nive things

No kids = can go out, go party, go travelling.

Many many gays have no kids. So they spend.

Very interesting compilation of graphs showing the development of many serious national financial problems, most of which apparently started exactly in 1971

[–]DffrntDrmmr 7 insightful - 3 fun7 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 3 fun -  (35 children)

Interesting.

Also, what the fuck happened in 1981? There's a noticeable change in graph trends during the 80's, too.

Oh, I know what happened. "Voodoo economics," trickle-down theory, "deficits don't matter" — Reaganomics.

Are you trying to get banned, beermeem? I'm certain you are aware this kind of childish useless garbage is not tolerated in the wider Saiditverse.

[–]beermeem 2 insightful - 3 fun2 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

This is my most upvoted comment of the past week! I think people understand "context." You, child.

[–]magnora7[S] 6 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 2 fun -  (13 children)

Yeah you can do better... calling people names isn't really winning people over to your point of view like you might think, in fact it might be doing the opposite

[–]beermeem 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (12 children)

Fascinating concept, fine sir.

What was it you thought I was doing?

[–]magnora7[S] 6 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 2 fun -  (10 children)

I thought you were expressing your viewpoint, but instead now it sounds like you're making yourself look like a jerk while intentionally breaking site rules by repeatedly dragging discussion down the pyramid of debate? Can you really not figure out a way to convey your viewpoint without insulting and attacking others like a child? I don't have an infinite tolerance for this sort of behavior.

[–]beermeem 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (9 children)

I'm not.

[–]magnora7[S] 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (8 children)

You literally just said as much, and now you're lying to me about it.

Be the change you want to see in the world.

[–]beermeem 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (7 children)

Every other word out of this guy's mouth is Zionist this, Zionist that. Literal hate speech against muh peeple. And I'm not allowed to call him a faggot?

[–]magnora7[S] 6 insightful - 4 fun6 insightful - 3 fun7 insightful - 4 fun -  (5 children)

Faggot is a smear, Zionist is an ideology. No one calls themselves a faggot, lots of people call themselves Zionists.

https://saidit.net/static/PyramidDebate.jpg

Repeatedly dragging discussion down the pyramid of debate is against site rules. I'm merely giving you a pre-warning, because your behavior brings down the quality of discussion on some threads quite significantly. If you are able to stop that (which I know you can, because I've seen your other comments that are very insightful and thoughtful) then there's no problem. But if you're just going to hurl insults at people (with no accompanying substance otherwise) any time you have a disagreement, then we will have to eventually part ways. Those have always been the rules, and we do this because we want a place where people can real discuss issues like clear-headed adults, not fling tribalistic insults at each other like a bunch of schoolchildren.

Refreshing.

Though, I should point out, I'm not particularly liberal. I'm at the midpoint of the liberal/conservative dichotomy.

[–]beermeem 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

Are you? Proof or ban.

A rising tide lifts all boats.

[–]DffrntDrmmr 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I don't know how one would prove something like that, but somewhere I have images of two different political compass tests that scored me at the center of the left/right libertarian/authoritarian dichotomies.

I registered as an independent at 18 and have never joined any political group or adopted any ideology — but I'm a bit fond of America and think the Enlightenment thinkers were... well, enlightened. So I champion democracy/capitalism (but I'm not a Laissez-faire ideologue. I favor regulations that protect the greater good).

Some of my views you wouldn't consider "liberal" — certainly not far left — which you may or may not notice at some point along the way.

I'll post those test scores if I can.

[–]bobbobbybob 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Voodoo economics was a term coined by George "HW" Bush and is a policy most lovingly embraced by the Clintons. Fucking bleeding heart shill.

Your hero killed Kennedy and tried to assassinate the second best President of our Lifetime. The cognitive dissonance of You People is astounding.

[–]DffrntDrmmr 6 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

Even David Stockman, Reagan's Budget Director and the architect of tax-cuts-for-the-rich, trickle-down economic theory, has been saying for years it was misguided and wrecked the economy.

Reagan ballooned the national debt and greatly widened the income gap. (See for yourself in the charts).

During Reagan's presidency, the federal debt nearly tripled in nominal terms, from $738 billion to $2.1 trillion. This led to the U.S. moving from the world's largest international creditor to the world's largest debtor nation.

I have no idea what you're trying to say about Kennedy.

As for "the second best president" — surely you don't mean Reagan. While I agree he had an great personality and was as likeable as they come, the country is still suffering from his policies.

And then there was the corruption.

The presidency of Ronald Reagan was marked by multiple scandals, resulting in the investigation, indictment, or conviction of over 138 administration officials, the largest number for any U.S. president. Wikipedia

[–]beermeem 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

What's Federal Debt?

I certainly don't mean Clinton I. Or Bush I. Or Bush II.

[–]DffrntDrmmr 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Reagan and Bush II increased the debt and deficit the most by providing tax cuts while increasing expenditures. The federal government is primarily financed by tax revenue.

Clinton actually reduced the debt as percentage of gross domestic product (GDP) by increasing tax revenues and decreasing spending.

[–]Jesus 5 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

Kennedy was a cool dude, unfortunately he was hated by right-wing Zionists Likudniks, Neocons, old time republicans, the CIA, mafia, etc.

I have a post on who killed him and his brother and the various other Kennedys.

I have a vague feeling that the UN started implementing monetary policy ideas around the world. specifically the idea of debt backed money issuance, something that has fucked everyone.

Up until 1964, US dollar coins, half dollars, quarters and dimes had 90% silver. After 1964 (1965-1970) they eliminated everything except half dollars which were now 40% silver. After 1970 all coins were 0% silver. Makes you think.

Watching the "Wu Flu" unfold has shown just how worthless the "markets" are at this point.

The Fed and CCP won't allow them to fall, never-mind that production in China has been operating at crippled capacity for over a month and may not be at full capacity again for an unknown period of time into the future. If people are dumping stock just flip a few bits and inject billions/trillions in the market and buy things up to keep that price stable - nevermind that the practice destroys the fundamental reason to have markets in the first place (price discovery).

[–]magnora7[S] 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (20 children)

Yeah they've been giving major companies near 0% loans to buy back their own company's stock, which inflates the prices even more. Tons of the biggest companies have been doing this since 2010 or so. The moment this money stops, the stock market crashes. And if the fed wants it to never crash, then they will just keep doing this forever... eventually the real estate market might seize up though, which could drag the stock market down with it. Lots of things are possible

[–][deleted] 9 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 0 fun10 insightful - 1 fun -  (16 children)

It's a mindfuck knowing how utterly fictitious world currencies are - yet this is the world we live in. If you make something innovative a large corporation or venture capital firm can get that sweet free fed money to snatch you up, if you don't sell they can shut you down through frivolous lawsuits. If you survive those they can just buy new "regulations" to make you less competitive.

The rotten foundation of this whole house of cards is powered only by faith - but to destroy that faith you need to create understanding in a majority of the population. An impossible task when the IQ goes lower every year - thus the financial angle behind flooding European countries with low IQ goat farmers from the forgotten corners of the world; and promoting state dependency through socialistic programs that encourage dysgenic breeding. Get enough dependents and easily controlled rubes to run the table on politics, and the show can go on forever.

[–]magnora7[S] 10 insightful - 1 fun10 insightful - 0 fun11 insightful - 1 fun -  (10 children)

I agree with everything you said. Except there is one check on all this -- the worse people's quality of life gets, the more quickly people become able to see what's wrong with the system and begin to oppose it and that faith in the system erodes away. A lot of that faith only exists because of people's memories of their middle-class existence, and it seems like they can get back there. Once that hope is extinguished, then the faith in the status quo also begins to dry up.

This is why mass revolutions often happen during the worst parts of a financial/economic crisis.

This is the largest context and is the self-regulating social mechanism that created the middle class in the first place. History shows things can't just get worse and worse forever, there is a breaking point where the system is too weak, brittle, and unpopular to sustain itself anymore. This is when a new way of operating begins to take foot. History shows these kind of waves, we just happen to be in a low point right now in history. There will come a point when people will have had enough, and the once-strong system will begin to collapse under its own weight without the support of the citizenry it's abusing to maintain power.

This is "the social contract" that we all learned about in history class. If they don't support us, we don't support them. Simple as that. History shows no system can operate without the support of the citizenry. This is why they dedicate so much energy to propaganda.

It's ridiculous, but it also all makes perfect sense. There are just so many perspectives, and they're all right in a way. However humanity typically acts to minimize damage to itself, which is why history is basically a long progression of very gradual improvement, even if there are periods where a few steps are taken backwards along the way.

Anyway, I didn't mean to ramble, but there's hope even if things look a bit bleak at the moment. Things like saidit, and the fact we can have this conversation at all, is kind of a big deal, imo. The world is waking up to itself, and it's not pretty. But that means a greater probability of pinpointing the real problems, which means a greater probability of fixing them.

[–][deleted] 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

You just nailed why I've been a "prepper" for the last 20 years. Not because I expect to wake up to "Fallout" conditions - but because I expect civil society to fail for a time while the world restructures itself out of the bullshit it's run on now and into a new cycle of bullshit. Many of the disasters we collectively survived in the 19th and 20th centuries (great depression, spanish flu, carrington event, etc) will be fatal to the current world order. We no longer possess the required levels of nationalism, self-sufficiency, or institutional trust to hold together through such a thing.

Yes we should all be prepared batten down the hatches and weather out any storm, should one arise

[–]Jesus 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Which is why things could easily change if the whole world was aware of these schemes and decided one day not to participate. But because it is only a minority that see this, opposing these schemes can dramatically change your life usually for the worse.

[–]magnora7[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I agree, but it's not always worse. You just have to know how to swing it. Which is not an easy thing in today's world.

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

Too inefficient and slow though. There is an alternative method yet unexplored to get out of this rut but if too many steps are taken backwards, then many opportunities will cease to exist as well and the window shall close. Keeping favor to chances, developing algorithms based on proper heuristics through collaboration is meant to be constant! The system is an auxiliary in achieving proper protocols while the social has been nothing more than a liability in many respects. That same social liability may be rearing its ugly head to obfuscate the path due to mass hysteria and hatred.

[–]magnora7[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

Too inefficient and slow though

I agree, but this isn't something we get to choose any more than we can pick how fast water flows. We can try to help it along, but at the end of the day it goes at the pace it goes.

[–][deleted] 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Um... there are catalysts and inhibitors in nature, both of which can be utilized wisely to either retard or speed up reactions; but the problem now seems to be impatience and actions of sabotage from very many sides. It is a liability when you think about what is at stake though:

That taking a step back as a society into SHTF, may also mean the loss of specialized knowledge, skills and capabilities. It has happened before during the Bronze age, silver age, golden age and the collapse of empires etc. There was a purpose they had failed to achieve despite their sacrifices and a loss of potential to build toward. All their ambitions and capabilities thrown away into darkness due to a lack of self-control or awareness toward the sad end.

It just may be better instead, to play a "trump" card, not play a "trump" card or play an "anti-trump-joker" card or whatever else in the deck to get out of this debacle and not follow the same footsteps as before. I may be wrong but potential shouldn't be wasted or sabotaged; it ought to be encouraged, realized and exploited mercilessly for the better!

[–]magnora7[S] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I agree, but then once you've done that nonstop for 20 years and you're kind of exhausted, then what? Keep doing more of the same?

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

then what? Keep doing more of the same?

Well, depending on your level of dedication or situation; maybe. But stay on the lookout for the tiny cracks of differing possibilities throughout your conflict to exploit into something radically different. Chance and change are built upon the chisel of grind and stone, the thing that inevitably decides the future is proportion and efficiency. It doesn't have to be exhausting or nonstop though.. take plenty of breaks and relax! Productivity or brainstorming isn't meant to be routine or difficult, enjoy yourself! That is also the purpose of humor.

[–]magnora7[S] 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

That's a reasonable perspective.

[–]Jesus 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

[–]Jesus 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

You know what I find ridiculous, is a lot of the millionaires who vote for Trump, I know many, tell me the multi-national corporations pay their fair share and that the idea they buy up their stock at near 0% interest rate is a lie.

It isn't of course, and it basically is corpprate welfare, but they totally gloss over the fact that the middle class was used as collateral to bailout the criminals who led to the 2008 financial class. A slap on the wrist with the added benefit of corporate welfare.

Whereas, you mention, say a farmer on welfare who labors tirelessly, or something in the same demographic and class you are in, and they will fight you and scold at the idea that you get shitty, barely livable handouts.

People do this with anything though, healthcare, lowering taxes, etc. The Powers That Be want us fighting not by class but within a class.

READ JAMES PETRAS BOOKS

Is he a marxist, yes, sort of but the guy really knows how to weite and illustrates the many layers of corporate greed, financialization, cronyism and the many players involved who perpetuate these woes, such as the corporate elite, Neocons, Right Wing Zionists, old timer Republicans, Corporate Democrates, etc.

Old Neocons spending fiat like its coming out of their ass. A fiat currency or a third party is needed to print money and the government then provides taxes, mostly income from its CITIZENS as collateral. The problem is the warmongering Zionist neocons decided to print money and inflate the economy for destabilization campaigns and wars. They don't really care that the debt keeps rising because thr FED does their biddings, the middle class thusly pays for their warmongering and high expenditure wars.

Yup sounds like a situation for hyperinflation. However the currency isn't quite inflating crazy yet, because all that value is trapped in the stock market and in foreign currency exchange accounts (petrodollar). Once those end, the dollars flood the world. If they don't soak up all that liquidity, there will be a hyperinflation scenario on the USD

Yes, and once those end, which seems likely considering the call for a multilateral economic world order by the IMF and BIS and the BRIC alliance, hyperinflation will ensue and the dollar will devalue.

ADL founded in 1913, FED founded in 1913. I'm sure it is just a coincidence, with the Frankfort founders and all.

Hm interesting. I wonder what else was founded 1912-1914.

Wasn't this about the time of the oil price shocks and OPEC?

Yup. Monetary inflation is a slow theft on anyone with savings, or a fixed wage.

Also both parents work now, and that started about the 70s too. This depressed wages even more. Now even a 2-income household has trouble making ends meet.

I don't really know if Nixion was as bad or caused the problems stemming from 1971.
