Has anyone ever tried to sue Reddit?

It seems that they install some .exe software if they suspect you're running dual accounts. This is in my opinion damaging my personal property and spying on me. Anyone have any info about that?

As an It pro who runs multiple reddit accounts I would like to hear more including the name of the .exe and how / why you think this.
From what I can tell they just use cookies to track you, I have seen no indication of any .exe or any attempt to install an .exe
Clear your cookies and use a VPN because they do monitor IP addresses.

I had an account permabanned the moment I logged into a public wifi a while back, so I can vouch for the IP address alone being a motivator to ban someone.

I work for a very large IT company that I am sure Reddit uses our products. Our office NAT IP address is blocked by Reddit, yet we have several very busy subreddits modded by employees. Reddit has gotten to big for their own good.

Maybe if you're distinguished enough, they actually investigate shared-ip bans. An nobody like you are me just gets swept up in the algorithm, and denied an appeal by a bot.

I don't know but if I was on the Civil Jury Reddit would lose.

On the bright side, it did lead me here.

Thanks a lot for sharing that link. I think the creator of the logo, the person that invested weeks to create a logo should have ownership.
Imagine every YouTuber figuring out that they have no ownership of their trademark, because "that's how they started". Many started on YouTube, so if "Linux tech tips" wants to go to another platform in theory YouTube could sue them.
The insanity of the US legal system can only be understood in a context where the little guy is fucked every inch of the way.

So I guess the only thing to do is go hunt down the CEO or mods of the sub I was on and kick the fucking shit out of them

First I'll check to see if they're in the gun or self defense communities

OK. Why I thought that was while engaged with some people in a bit of a tussle, I used my back-up account for that exact purpose. LOL. Shame on me I know, but if I'm being honest about it. I then started to notice weird activity on the site. I was using two different browsers. I couldn't see my comments all of a sudden etc, but when I restarted my computer, I saw 3 quick command prompt windows, usually the sign of software initiating? I then read somewhere that they could install something on your computer, but if you say its just reading ip adresses that makes sense. Thank you.

Very unlikely to be Reddit related. Definitely worth scanning for viruses/malware, though.
Reddit will just be using your IP address and probably browser fingerprinting to detect ban evaders. Be aware that the reddit experience on a fresh account is utterly shite these days, in many subs you'll be effectively shadowbanned (comments won't show up unless manually allowed by a mod) for just having a new account/low karma. But you can't get upvotes if nobody can see your comments...

Run GNU/Linux in a virtual machine and use TOR to mask your IP. All free.
It's really hard to make and use an account with tor. First off, signing up often gets the endless captcha, and even if you are successful making the account, you end up shadowbanned, and have to file an appeal, then wait and hope.
If anyone needs to sue Reddit, it's detransitioners, who have irreversible damage to their bodies and mental health in part due activists on reddit, and the admins aggressively censoring any criticism of the trans cult.

i have about 15 active reddit accounts and they have installed nothing on my system yet. ( and about 200 abandoned accounts) someone should sue them for blocking freedom of speech.

Or just abandon Reddit altogether.
use the following search parameters to narrow your results:
e.g. sub:pics site:imgur.com dog
