In Italy they went up from 1.80 euro to 2 euro. People seem to have no reaction to it.

That's an increase of 11%. Thanks for sharing your observation.

Yup, it is the same story in Kentucky. Diesel is also sky rocketing, not looking good. Inflation was already at an all time high under the Biden administration, add to the that the poor policies regarding energy and the conflict with Russia/Ukraine, and we have quite the problem.

It is $3 a litre here in New Zealand
They are blaming the war in Ukraine. According to the stock market Oil is USD $115.01 dollars per barrel.

On Thursday I drive past a gas station selling regular for 3.85, when I drove past on the way home, it was 4.20. Our last heating oil delivery was 20% higher than the previous month. The news is already talking about $8/gallon gas.

Wow. That's a big change in a short time. Thanks for sharing.

A friend who lives 40 minutes away texted me today. His local station was at 4.25 this morning and is up to 4.45 now. It's ugly.

Thanks for your update. Here in Hot Springs, Arkansas, the price remained unchanged overnight.... still $3.39 per gallon.

[–]HiddenFox 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (7 children)

Here in Canada the price in our province went up $.12/liter (~$.40/Gallon) over night to $1.72/liter (~ $6.50/ Gallon)

I heard a Canadian mainstream news piece yesterday say it could be at $2 per liter in just a week from now, and that's an all-time high for Canada. It could continue to go up from there.

[–]HiddenFox 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

Yup, sounds about right. I heard that its already hit the $2 mark in western Canada because of B.C Carbon tax. For the Americans, $2/liter is $7.56 Gallon.

[–]In-the-clouds[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

Has the high price caused you to make any changes to your lifestyle?

[–]HiddenFox 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Not trying to brag but I'm doing pretty good. Me and the Mrs. both have professional jobs and we have no kids. House paid for and zero debt. So we got the disposable income and high gas prices are more a nuisance.

For prospective, we both came from poorer (but not dirt poor) homes. So budgeting and value of money were both important to us.

However, I remember being young and the stress on my parents living on a tight budget. When me and my wife married things we very tight for years until we paid all our debts off. I'm very aware of the major impact this is having on a majority of households.

That is a blessing to be free from debt! Even the Bible tells us to be in debt to no one, so you are doing something right there in God's eyes.

Romans 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

I believe in necessity debt. Having a mortgage is a reality of today. Having $20k on a credit card with nothing to show for it...preach on because you are totally correct!

[–]In-the-clouds[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I did the mortgage thing, too, but then was blessed financially so that I could pay it off.

In an ideal society, children could live with their parents while working and saving up so they could buy or build their own home, avoiding all debt.

But our society is corrupt, and many parents themselves are in debt, buying more than they can afford, not content with what they already have.

I also did the college loan thing, and now I see that is another way I was sucked into the slavery of financial debt. But I thank God that today I am free from all debt and I will never go into debt again.

33

[–]In-the-clouds[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (8 children)

That's right, from $3.06 to $3.39, a jump of 33 cents. That was at Walmart, which has the cheapest gas in my area. I haven't looked at the price yet today.

[–]turtlew0rk 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (7 children)

33 has occult meaning and it seems like 33 is common in the news. 33 deaths reported here, 33 this 33 that. Then again confirmation bias is aslo a thing.

[–]In-the-clouds[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (6 children)

The most important meaning I associate with #33 is that was the age of Jesus when the world crucified him. What appeared evil, to publicly execute an innocent man in the prime of his life, was actually victory for his believers. He became a curse for us, making us free from sin and death. As Jesus said, it is finished!

[–]turtlew0rk 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

Yes that is one reason. 33 Chackras I believe, Verebre in the spine and 33 degrees in free masonry. Also in numerology it is said to be a transformative number of years in ones life. Jesus certainly, and for myself I got sober at 33 years old so it is also special to me.

Probably loads more, which may or may not mean anything.

[–]In-the-clouds[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Good on you for being sober at 33! I had my own struggles with excessive alcohol consumption, but have now been sober for over a decade. The Lord himself has a special wine, heavenly not earthly, which I am waiting for him to offer me.

[–]turtlew0rk 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Good for you my friend! Every single sober day is a blessing and I will have seven years may 10th. (God willing).

I needed that little reminder, thanks!

[–]In-the-clouds[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

May 10 is my birthday! What are the chances that would be the day you count your years of sobriety? God bless you, and may you receive strength to stay sober and to overcome all the temptations of the flesh. I pray you finish your race well.

[–]turtlew0rk 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It was sort of a birthday for me as well. 5-10-15 was the was he end of one era and he begging of another for me. One thing I have noitced in that time is that synchronicities like these seem to happen a lot in these "odd or god?" moments. Almost like they are a byproduct of divine intervention? lol I don' know.

Thanks for he support. I wish the same for you. Never know when you may need it or need to give it away to someone that needs it.

Al Bundy was number 33 for Polk High School. Duh!

4 touchdowns in one game.

Around my area in California, I heard that prices go up to $7 per gallon.
Seems like many oil companies refuse to do business with Russia due to rising geopolitical tensions.

You think the votes of the peasant class determine who the leaders will be? That would assume that the votes are counted accurately and that the election isn't already rigged.

[–]MidWestDutchy 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

$5 for regular where I am...

[–]kiwiheretic 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

In New Zealand it jumped from $2.60 to $2.80 in what seems to be the space of a few days. Some places in NZ it is over $3. Because we are metric that is the price per litre (not gallons) For us that is a colossal jump to see happen all at once.

[–]jw329 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

don't drive very much. I could afford 5 bucks a litre or even 10

must suck for people driving trucks

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah, it happens. When the price of oil goes high enough all sorts of domestic reservoirs become profitable to tap and the price drops.

Should we consider buying a hybrid or possibly an electric vehicle?

[–]In-the-clouds[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Months ago I saw the New World Order plan requires electric vehicles.

I'm down if there's a modular design that's easy to work on. https://sven.fev.com/

I feel like us knowing things are gonna change, and instead of fearing it - it SHOULD give us the upper hand. Make investment decisions early on.

So when are they going to build the electric aeroplanes and the electric boats?

[–]restlessincanada 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

the price is rising because the us and canada arent producing like we could and becuase our alternative energy solutions are stupid and have left us dependent on others for energy. as the price of oil rises the cost of everything else will rise with it. how do we protect the environment anyways by importing oil from somewhere else? do the emisions from production in these other countries not enter the same atmosphere?
