    I went to a username generating website and they randomly gave me the first name Marva. I've never heard of it before so I ignored the usernames and just tried marva. It was free.

    Haha. I tend to agree, though I think our analysis as to why might differ in some places.

    I was really close to my grandfather who was of the silent generation. And being around a person of such character really shows me what's wrong with these "fuck your feelings" dudes. There was once people who lived by "fuck my feelings" and tried to make life better for others. Granted, he was New Deal Democrat, but the dude was tough, always available to help, and really positive and constructive. The idea of harassing strangers or looking for a forum to whine about his life and changes around him would never occur to him.

    Also tied into the post-WWII changes are 1) car culture 2) the explosion suburbs 3) the nuclear family. . . There are all sorts of men who want to be little dictators of a nuclear family, but they wouldn't want to be part of an extended family, where grandma and grandpa, siblings and cousins, lived near by (or upstairs) and expressed opinions on parenting and performed other acts of social regulation. What we have is a consumerism-driven isolation of people, moving toward the direction of more dependence on the system.

    To be fair, I'm not one of the national socialists or former The_Donald refugees.

    Instead, I'm homesteading here so I can start cloning subs when the two weeks is up. I just want a backup plan in case the madness spreads. I'm a free thinker trying to be as accurate as I can (hence the Doomer), but I want life to be pleasant (hence the friendly).

    When I entered this site, I knew I couldn't pick my preferred username. I'm part of one heavily pro-trans and pro-SJW website amd if they found me here I'd be permabanned for sure. I also don't plan to abandon reddit yet so I don't want to be found there either.

    I came to this website mostly wanting to join communities aimed towards fiction lovers, and that includes: writing fiction books, reading fiction novels and watching fiction movies and series. I'm kinda very fan of the Jurassic Park franchise, so I decided to make my username related to dinosaurs.

    I hope we can build a strong fiction community here to the people who were marginalized for thinking different.

    I just wanted something different from my Reddit name but I used the same basic construction (adjective or verb+noun). Not sure how I arrived at dazzle or dot but here I am.

    Raavan is a Hindu mythological character. However, that's not the person who inspired my username. The guy I'm a fan of is the person who played Raavan in the tv serial Raamayan. I just loved this guy, his voice was very impactful, as was his acting.

    That said, this is my 3rd saidit account. Thing is, i kept getting banned from reddit resulting in 30+ accounts being made by me. So I'm not used to staying on the same account name for long - hopefully this account changes that.

    I had a friend back in third grade who gave me the nickname Shell bell. She was an amazing friend who unfortunitely moved away during middle school and haven't heard from her since.

      I chose the handle "Oortcloud" back in the 80s when the internet was still in it's infancy. Names were called "handles" then just like ham radio people had handles. I chose the name because at the time the oort cloud was only an educated speculation and that's what I was in to.
