It's not the AI that needs to be feared; it's the people programming them.
It's certainly possible to program an AI to kill as many babies as possible in the worst way imaginable. It's just that it requires a few billion dollars in R&D to get to that point, so it's not something that many people will do. In a way, any one person with more than $300M is a danger to humanity. A company like Apple is extremely dangerous to humanity, because they make more money than France (and France has nukes).
