Ive recommended fasting for physical strength too. People dont understand why, and its simple: if you can steel your spirit to overcome physical hurdles, you can use it to push your mind and body as well to greater strength.

I am not sure about the wording you used. Are you saying that if you exercise your will power to control your physical body to refrain from eating, that stronger will power can also push your physical body to lift heavier weights, to move faster, and to endure longer?

Partially, yes; most of it when you are already well-developed physically but havent got enough discipline nor spiritual guidance.
