There are plenty of places around the internet filled with racism that don't have free speech, because they will ban you if you go against their narrative. I've been banned from voat for simply speaking out against the racism before... is that free speech? I don't think so.

If that's true, that's really crappy. Their whole thing was free speech. Typically, the left are the ones who can free speech if it's things they don't want to hear, so I'm a bit surprised. But, not many people on that site seemed very stable anyway.

Yeah they had this sub called "protectVoat" and they were basically a mob who would gang up on people they didn't like and get them banned, and one day they targeted me because of an anti-racist comment, so I was gone. Voat is as much an echo-chamber as reddit, just on the other end of the political spectrum. One of the many reasons we built saidit.

Somehow I'm not surprised. People like that always find ways around their principles, assuming they really held them to begin with. It's sad, but reasonable places like saidit will probably never attract as many people. But I do think more people will show up though. :)
