i was watching the movie "roots" and the slavery period of the united states is absolutely no joking matter.

and then there was the ocoee massacre where white people just went on a murderous rampage in 1920 and just killed every black person in town.

i think that it is disgusting that this saidit site allows people to post hateful things like this post by /u/johndoyle

Slavery was fucked up for sure and shit like the ocoee massacre was and still is just unspeakably cruel.

i think that if we recognize how ugly things have been that it should be obvious that we all need to somehow find a common ground and stop the bullshit.
