Imagine if you will for a moment a world where Gov and corps actually work together toward mutual goals.

That's called "fascism" (like the real fascism, not the pseudofascism of today's accusations).

With the politicizing of the term Fascism, it's difficult to ascertain a specific definition beyond it being absolute Authoritarian, left or right doesn't matter. The marriage of Gov and Corp would be more akin to a Corporatocracy.

Corporatocracy is a recent term used to refer to an economic and political system controlled by corporations or corporate interests. It is a form of Plutocracy. The concept has been used in explanations of bank bailouts, excessive pay for CEOs as well as complaints such as the exploitation of national treasuries, people and natural resources.

Very true. I tried for years to explain to people on the Left and the Right what fascism really meant - to no avail. They've just reimagined it as "those other guys we hate."

Plutocracy is very much a good box to put all what's happening in. Heading for a new feudalism, I imagine, once the richest have taken even from the less-rich and don't have to pretend to adhere to government any longer.
