Why do people even bother leaving candy out if they don't want to interact with trick or treaters?

i did that once because I was sick, so I kept only a little in the bowl. But I watched people on camera and there were a couple of shitty kids that emptied the bowl. But not a very grown ass woman. Good for the kid staying off on the street, he probably knows mom is going to eat all of it.
