There is a very powerful effort put into preventing the study of anything in the ancient past. It is most obvious in the Americas and Egypt, but it happens absolutely everywhere. It's almost as if a very wealthy and powerful cabal is hiding things they are fully aware of.

People have always traveled, it just hasn't always been written down. Stories told orally tend to get changed over the generations. I think this is why so many common "myths" from different cultures all over the world are similar to each other. They recently discovered man-altered obsidian from the Pacific NW 100 feet below the surface of Lake Huron from 10,000 years ago.
