FISA-702 was massively abused. They said, "sorry", sent everyone to training, developed all these rules and shit, and pretended everything was getting better. It may have been, but a little better, but then they abused the shit out of it to get Jan 6 protesters.

Now the intelligence groups have requested even more power....

Yet, both parties, everyone is tripping over themselves to re-authorize it.

The Democrat majority house intelligence committee proposed their own extension, which they passed internally on party lines, with some limitations, warrant requirements, and rules to prevent data broker sales. It is a garbage bill that takes more freedom away, while pretending to claw it back. It includes a shit-ton of stuff so that they can sneak other stuff in and if they sneak in something others don't like, they can shame them for "blocking the privacy reform"...although the easiest reform is to let it expire.

The Republican majority senate intelligence committee proposed their own extension, which includes some limitations, warrant requirements and rules about data brokering, adding FBI to the accountability table, and some other stuff (no news site wants to report what is in it, but everyone is showing of the garbage Democrat contract for the souls of Americans). I'm sure it is freedom stealing garbage too; what bill to extend authoritarian FISA abuse wouldn't be?

Now Jim Jordan (R-OH), House Judiciary Committee Chairman and one of FISA’s top critics, claims to be making his own independent proposal.

So we have the fight to be the most just freedom executioner...
