Putin just became another Kim Jong Un.

The way I see it, NATO has backed Putin into a corner where he felt he had no choice but to come out fighting.

Nah, that's just Russian propaganda.

This. Jebi Rusiju. I definitely get the hesitance towards major news outlets because of any number of propaganda efforts, but my family came to the US from the Balkans. If people think Russia isn't the 'bad guy', they're sorely lacking in historical knowledge.

I truly cannot understand how little most Westerners seem to understand this conflict. "Why should I care?" You should care because it's standing up against authoritarianism and communism- things America and the West in general used to stand for. "This has nothing to do with [insert country]." It does, whether or not the effects are immediate and regardless of how much or little shitty legacy media companies cover it. Americans forget Pearl Harbor, I suppose. I really wish they taught more about Slavic and Balkan countries and the Iron Curtain in schools here. Instead, history books tend to stop at WWII. It's very sad. Unfortunately, my family can never forget.
