What a slap in the face to biological women.

You should never be forced to do this, but if this anti-female environment proves durable, I wonder what the possibilities are for creating private clubs with private funding where only biological females are allowed to compete. Women, you unfortunately may need to look into this. Otherwise, as the headline says, girls' sports are no longer allowed.

What a mindset. They really hate the universe as it is naturally configured, just hate it.

, I wonder what the possibilities are for creating private clubs with private funding where only biological females are allowed to compete.

What's going to happen in athletics is a shit load of male athletes will enter women's races, either for profit or giggles. Then we'll have a year or two with no female winners, and the bulk of the population will kick up a stink.

It's sad to say that it may now be illegal to form women only spaces, which includes changing rooms.

Women are a lot less confrontational than men, they'll just start withdrawing from using facilities that allow men into areas where they are vulnerable. Gyms and pools etc that have single stall changing will be the only ones women will use after a bit.

Then businesses that lose female customers will start kicking up a stink about the cost of changing their facilities to single occupancy stalls.

Women, you unfortunately may need to look into this.

We've been kicking up a stink since 2017. Made some progress in the UK.

I agree with everything but this statement

[–]GConly 11 insightful - 3 fun11 insightful - 2 fun12 insightful - 3 fun -  (1 child)

On average we are.

Not including myself, raging testosterone fueled bitch that I am.

But when there is some kind of confrontation that could turn nasty in some way women are just less likely to deal with it head on. Hard to say whether it's down to innate difference or just because we learn in our teens it's just not a good idea to challenge men because of their violence. After all, one decent punch from a man can kill a woman.

Too many "-isms". This isn't about any -ism. It's about respecting objective reality and accommodating ourselves to it rather than trying to legislate it away to fit the yelling of a small group of people who find themselves unable to function in a society designed around the 99+% of people who accept reality as it has been conceived of for thousands of years.

Which is quite a conundrum. Are there any left/center-left parties which are not pro-tranny? Even the GOP is pro-tranny. The first act of this purportedly ultra-right SCOTUS majority under Barrett was to punt a case about tranny bathroom access. Even the Alt-Light, at the height of its influence, felt obligated to adopt a token based tranny.

I've seen pro trans people say that they wouldn't accept trans sports leagues, but they'd be fine with "transphobic" teams starting on their own - meaning that for women who don't want to compete against men, it would be seen as politically hateful to join such a group, and therefore many young female athletes would feel peer pressured to compete in the broader "women and trans women" group, even if trans women seemed to win at a much higher rate than their percentage of that population would predict. Maybe there would be a tipping point if it became too obviously dominated by second tier male athletes, but I don't know that women would find it feasible to separate to a biological-only group before that, just due to the way it would be represented.

Although it sucks that women and girls will be put at a disadvantage, combined with the spectacle of grown men getting to be naked around girls, this will only hasten the push-back against the identitarian left. Normal people leap from the trans train when they see the degeneracy it brings into their lives.

          [–]StillLessons 9 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 0 fun10 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

I realized after I wrote my first comment above that the second element you note here is far more damaging than the first. The sports question is an absolute rejection of biological observation and is notable for that, but the damage that is being done to biological females by the elimination of spaces where they can be safe from male sexuality is insanely traumatic. This will affect their sense of safety in ways beyond calculation. Trans activists are destroying so much more than they even begin to understand.

We've already had an attempted rape on a little girl because of this shit in the UK. The offender calls himself Katie Dolatowski.

It actually seems to have caught enough attention, along with the sexual assaults by transwomen in women's prisons, to cool the UK gov off on the whole thing.

American MMM seems to keeping the sexual assaults and indecent exposures etc out if the public eye. There was a list on the Reddit gender critical sub of them.

I can also prove with stats they have the same sex offending rate as other men. Something they are really fucking desperate to conceal.

The fix for like 80% of them is probably lay off the porn.

The fix for the female ones is probably to make something else trendy. Girls becoming trans right now is just the new cutting/bulimia.

          [–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I wish it was that easy. There is a theory that transgender went from being a psychological disorder to a valid lifestyle because it highlights modern psychiatry's inability to fix any psychological condition. That despite spending billions of dollars on pharmaceuticals, the drugs don't work.

          [–]jet199 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

The fact is that if you have most illnesses you have do almost all of the work of healing yourself.

Even with a physical illnesses which has some kind of magic bullet cure if you don't put the work in to get better and keep healthy in other aspects your chances won't be great.

Mental illnesses do get resolved but not by doctors. Some times you just grow out of them. I've certainly known trans people do that, it's unfortunately pretty common that 5 years after full surgery they will realise they made a mistake and want to be changed back.

Weirdly though antidepressants do seem to get rid of gender dysphoria in some men, probably because they kill their libido. There was good research being done into this 20 years ago but it all got shut down by activists. That's the trouble with mental illnesses, to get better you have to admit you have a problem in the first place.

          [–]wristaction 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Nope. Trans rhetoric actively denies science.

The science says 90% of transwomen have a fetish which they get in adulthood and have brains the same as normal men.

            https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3180619/

Trans rhetoric says they are all born that way and have some kind of internal feminine essence which means they are really women.

            [–]StillLessons 13 insightful - 2 fun13 insightful - 1 fun14 insightful - 2 fun -  (14 children)

Once upon a time in a long-ago far off land, science was the activity of observing our world and the skies, noting and classifying the different types and kinds of materials and processes, and discovering how they interacted so as to better understand said world and where we fit into the scheme of things. Among the most basic classifications, clear enough that even the youngest of children recognize it, is that of male and female. A child seeing a pair of dogs, for example, male and female, will notice that one has a penis and the other doesn't. Naturally, that child will ask why? And guess what? The answer has nothing to do with what the dogs wanted or chose, or how they identify. The dogs are male and female. They were born that way, for reasons that have absolutely zero to with their individual perception of the world. They were never given a choice, and there is nothing they can do about it, nor is there any reason they should have any desire to do anything about it. End of story. This is the simplest of concepts. I am still - even after several years of witnessing it - in shock that so many people are willing to complicate the simplest observation in the universe beyond the point of all recognition. Either there is an objective natural world to observe (the intent of true science), or there isn't. Which is it? If male and female don't exist, then you might as well throw out animal, vegetable, and mineral as well. There is no more science behind that classification than there is behind male and female. The fact that a small portion of humans have a psychological or psychiatric (not sure which, probably some with one, others with the other) glitch which leads to their personality not matching their biological sex does not negate the original classification. But the Biden camp (which is not necessarily the same thing as Biden, who is observably senile) has here declared precisely that. There is no greater anti-science stance possible.

The ultra-rare genetic defect of true genital hermaphroditism does not negate the fact that homo sapien is a binary-sex species. The statistic is thrown around a lot that intersex conditions are as common as redheads....but that's only true if you include the 99.9% of people who still have fully functional sexed genitalia and secondary sex characteristics, just have some minor differenced hormone sensitivity. So in other words, it's bullshit.

            [–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (6 children)

That is not the only way sexual phenotypes become more androgynous. And you can't point to the rarity of the condition while ignoring the rarity of trans.

Listen, I'm pro-trans in the sense that I support every single human being's unalienable right to be free from violence, from religious or political persecution, from discriminatory hiring practices or barring from education, public services, etc. You know, rights. I do not see it as their right to have 99% of the population cater to their mental illness by pretending that a transwoman is literally, in every meaningful sense, a woman. Sports are divided along dimorphic sexual lines FOR A REASON. And the trans activists have glommed on to people with genetic hormone disorders to argue that 'well because Caster Semenya's case is genuinely complicated, all the rest of us should get to compete in women's sports too!". Fuck off. Also I believe Caster Semenya was banned from several female track competition events.

And the issues over trans is more a matter of culture than science.

            Your own words...

            [–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

You insist it is a science. There is a science component. It doesn't look good for your side.

But it is mostly a cultural issue. Hatred of trans often comes from right wing politics and/or patriarchal religions. It is not an objective reality.

When leftists claim someone denies climate change, 99.99% of the time the person isn’t denying it, they’re just trying to have an adult conversation on the topic and the leftist feels criticized because the conversation involves thought, instead of circle-jerking about how evil they think republicans are.

I have no hate for trans people. It is still weird to pretend someone is a different gender than the one they obviously are. It's like pretending my niece was a Princess when she was 5, but with adults.

No, but most people in my family are, and I know very well that it ain't nowhere near safe.

If they don't already you should suggest they roll their own smokes. It cuts the cost dramatically. A pack costs me about a buck. I paid $60 for my mikromatic rolling machine (it costs $40 on Amazon) several years back and that's saved me thousands of dollars over the years.

Children have never been denied access to restrooms, locker rooms or school sports.

Most of the people supporting this have no interest in or actively hate sports.

They aren't ever going to care about the out come.

So doesn’t this still have to be agreed upon with congress? They can still send it back to Biden’s desk right? Kind of funny that Gabbard was mentioned when my SO’s lib fem wife says she LOVES her (but is spouting off ‘kill terfs fuck jk rowling’ on her IG) I think she has no idea about legislation and personal beliefs of our constituents.

This is an executive order. As such, I believe the theory is that the congress has already written the law, and that it is now up to the executive (the president) to interpret and implement what congress wrote. What we have here is the new administration's interpretation. Unless the congress comes back and corrects the administration's interpretation (or the courts declare it unacceptable per the constitution), this is immediately the law of the land. Someone with more legal knowledge than I have can correct me on this, but I believe this is where we are in the process.
