They're dumb.

It doesn't really matter. If the crowd had walked away from the Capital without doing anything, they would have been mocked as useless cowards. If the crowd gave voice to their rage and stormed the Capital (as they did), then they would be decried as terrorists and lunatics (as they now are). This was a no win situation.

They're making themselves look stupid which is exactly what Trump and Biden want.

Trump isn't in league with Biden. The simple fact is that he never had any coherent plan for how to overturn the Election fraud. Trump called for his huge army of supporters to assemble at the Capital today, when the Electoral Votes were being counted. He made the exact same speech that he had made countless times before, and then asked his supporters to make a peaceful march to the Capital building.

This left the crowd feeling confused and disappointed, since they were expecting Trump to do something tangible. They were also angry after finding out that Pence had seemingly betrayed them. The crowd made their way to the Capital building, where their anger boiled over and turned into a demonstration of force.

Assault on democracy. Watch every pundit on the news repeat this slogan, over and over again.

You say that like its something new. The MSN has been screaming about an 'assault on democracy' for literally the entirety of Donald Trumps Presidency. Their screaming intensified in 2020 when he tried to stop the U.S. Postal Service from processing election ballots, and when he tried to overturn Wisconsin’s election results.
