Really great article. Made even better by not being biased toward the right either.

What used to make the cultural excesses of the religious right so harmless - even comforting - was you knew that movies, documentaries, books, music and journalistic articles would follow to point out the lunacy we were seeing. Now those same people who gave us relief have become creators of propaganda now that their side is in charge.

Yep. Most intelligent people could see through the silly arguments based on oddball religious interpretations, so the cultural right never seemed like a real threat, even if it was worth taking seriously and opposing.

Now that we have "woke religion", formerly clear-headed people are embracing emotional rhetoric over logical argument, since apparently logic is racist. That's concerning.
