My buddy had a infestation of these at his house even though they're supposedly solitary. We had fun shooting them with bb guns till a window got broke. Wasn't just for fun, they were doing damage to the wood.

We have the yellow variety here in Arkansas. I hear them in warmer weather inside wood, like in our old playground behind the house. They buzz so loudly that it almost sounds like a drill boring a hole. It makes sense why they are called carpenter bees.

So if it went to Northern Europe and was a different color, it’s the same bee. Its intellect would be the same as a bee that stayed in Africa. Separation would NEVER cause genetic drift especially if it’s thousands of miles.
