Photographer Vadim Trunov has had close encounters with squirrels in his career, but these pictures of squirrels shooting photos of each other and of birds are probably the most captivating he took.

At first I thought the title was a joke, and that I would see squirrels shooting each other.... with guns.... pictures of shootings, "shooting photos", but now I see this is completely innocent (and very cute).

A pile of seeds on the tree stump was bait to get the birds and squirrels to pose up close to the camera. He had another camera to take a picture of the first camera. I wonder if he took two pictures and merged them together. In one photo, there could have been a squirrel touching the camera, but no bird on the tree stump. In another photo, no one was touching the camera, but a lone bird was taking a seed from the tree stump. It's easy to take two such photos and put them together if nothing else in the scene is moving. The stump and camera were stationary. The chances of getting both animals exactly in position like this, not once, but twice, would be unlikely, but not impossible.
