perhaps there is still hope. i don't disagree things are shit, and there is an active attempt to dismantle our society. but perhaps good will prevail.

Good never prevails, except for a short time so that evil can swoop in and steal the victory at the last minute when we all had our hopes up and had a taste of what could've been.

If what you said were true, everything would already be destroyed and we would not exist.

Good already won the victory. It is just a matter of each man claiming that victory for himself. Who is the victor, but he that believes Jesus is the Son of God?

Everything being destroyed would be too merciful. And both Paul and the fourth gospel speak negatively of "the god/archon of this world".

Love does not destroy what it has created.

The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. God, who is love, preserves life and does not destroy life. God is the God of life, not death. And God is not the god of this world... That would be the father of lies, and the wicked one has many children here, growing like weeds among the wheat.

But the enemy finds it more fun when we are allowed to reach the brink of hope and then have it destroyed at the last second. He's not a cartoon character with horns and a pitchfork going around and mindlessly destroying everything.

America fits your description. We have prominent voices saying "Make America Great Again" and it might look hopeful, but those voices do not lead the citizens to repent, to turn away from sin, therefore the nation will be destroyed and be no more. But the small minority that do repent and turn to Jesus shall be saved and the enemy cannot stop God's Word from being fulfilled.

America doesn't look hopeful at all. I consider its fate sealed ever since June 2020, when the half of the country that still defended it and freedom suddenly turned on them and became entirely reactionary to their reactionary enemies. Now there will be nothing but political persecution, civil war, and if not a communist or fascist revolution, a conquering by China while we're divided.

Are you not familiar with Sodom and Gomorrah? He wouldn't do that until Abraham and Lot were literally the only people left who weren't extremely wicked. There are no collective judgements. The only exception was Israel, because they had a specific contract with God. And as it turns out, it profited them nothing, because no one could keep it. Nevertheless he kept his end of the deal and blessed Israel, unless loving discipline was required, so that they could thrive in the much greater one to come.

Do not be deceived by the threats from theocrats who like the Pharisees attempt to convert people to their beliefs with coercion and force. Their interest is controlling people. And they are one of the main forces destroying this country. They only talk God when they find it useful for controlling people.

John MacArthur is particularly noteworthy. He has done much damage to Christianity in recent times, as have many popular televangelists and politicians. Mainstream Christianity is already in the territory of blatantly opposing Jesus's teachings; probably the most common example is "don't turn the other cheek and don't love your enemies even though Jesus says so, because that's weak and effeminate, and we need to punish all the sinners we don't like and rejoice when they suffer." There has been a great falling away, our church age has ended like they all have, and another will begin someday. But now is an opportunity for many hidden things to be revealed and for us to learn from last time's mistakes, and many new people can be reached.

False prophets promise peace and safety, then sudden destruction comes upon them.

America, the last of the "super powers" after the collapse of the USSR = Mystery Babylon.

Prophecy from the book of Revelation:

Revelation  18:2  And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. 18:3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.  18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

God's Word will be fulfilled, every last bit of it.  I will not argue this point further with someone who tells people to avoid the light, but I strongly encourage anyone reading this (including u/aureolin) to pray to the Lord if you want answers to any questions or concerns.

Pray like this:  Our Father, who is in heaven, Holy is your name.  Your kingdom come.  Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive others that have hurt us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory.  For ever.  Amen.

Revelation is a prophecy about the fall of the Roman empire. The beast is Nero, whose name in Aramaic adds up to 666; or 616, depending on the spelling. Copies of Revelation found in areas where the other spelling was used do indeed have 616 as the number of the beast instead of 666. Furthermore, Revelation's authenticity is questionable, and was rejected by many in early times, as well as Martin Luther.

It is written in your own book that "Even Satan masquerades as an angel of light." Therefore how can you accuse me of being false when I warn against light traps set by evil spiritual forces? And have you not read that you are to test every spirit and word and vision, and not blindly believe everything that claims to be from God? And do you not know that the kingdom of God is in us, and that no one will be able to say "look, there it is!"? Therefore how can a light tunnel take you there? Or are we just going to ignore these things because they contradict orthodoxy? I thought every letter was supposed to be inerrant! Even in the corrupt Catholic New Testament, these "heretical" and "gnostic" ideas are still clearly advocated. But because they dare go against the world and nature and society, those infiltrating us have become masters at hiding them away, even since the very beginning.

If you are so confident that this is incorrect, you should be able to demonstrate it. But much in the same way many in the PC era can instantly discredit everything a person says by crying "bigot!", you too are dismissing all of this by calling it stupid or shouting "heretic!". I suppose the orthodoxy has you trained to do this, so you always submit to their whims and never question them. If Jesus entered most churches today, they would have him run out of there as fast as the Pharisees and immediately declare him a heretic and a blasphemer and a degenerate. But they have their own interests at heart, and interests in this world rather than the other, and want nothing more than power, being ultimately controlled by the evil forces that govern this world.

If you observe the world long enough without the rose-colored glasses that society forces on you, it would become clear through the very laws of nature. Even the things that look good here are really more viciousness masked and dressed up pretty.
