Bookburning—an attempt at social control by limiting the availability of books that do not support your political agenda. This is no different from religious fundamentalists in any country throwing books onto a pyre. Salman Rushdie encountered the same mindset back in the eighties when a fatwa was issued for him and he had to go into hiding due to his book that very few read.
