25 years is not "a little better" than 110 years old, it's a lot better. Say with good behavior (if it was a conviction in state court) he would do about half of his sentence so it's possible he could be out in 12.5 years. When he gets out he will be ~34 years old, he can still have a life as opposed to doing 110 years. If it was a federal conviction where there is no parole he will have to do at the very least 85% of his sentence. So if he was sentenced to 25 years he'll be released from federal prison at ~43 years old. A hell of a lot better than dying in prison because there is no way he'll live past 100 years old in prison to serve a 110 year sentence.
Do these people not understand how long a year is?
Looks like they do understand how long a year is.
