If it were front-page news every time a straight white guy shot someone, the front page of every newspaper would be nothing but examples of straight white guys shooting someone. It would just be ten different stories about it, every single day.

I think it's known common sense that front pages don't look like that.

There are about 40 gun homicides in the United States every single day. It's not rare at all. In fact, it's so common that most gun homicides only make it into a local paper, and some don't make the news at all.

It's going to be about 10. "Black" people make up about 14% of the population and commit about 25% of the murders. These are known statistics that are easy to look up.
