All that shit for a gram of cocaine.

Pretty insane. But there are those in the police force so brainwashed over the war on drugs they go I to a steroid rage when they even hear the word cocaine. Nothing can justify them getting into a gun fight over something so insignificant.

I mean, the damage they do enforcing a drug that is imported by our government is insane.

Legalize it, and make unwanted behavior illegal. Theft, violence.

No-Knock warrants should be illegal. They do nothing but risk lives of both cops and criminals. Add to that, no amount of drugs is worth someone's life. I think he should be cleared of murder charges. I'd arm myself if I saw a bunch of people I couldn't readily ID if they woke my ass up in the middle of the night.

no knock is good so the criminal doesn't have a chance to get their gun ready and start killing cops that are knocking on the door.

If they're afraid of being shot, why don't they just wait for him to come out?

why doesn't he just not be a criminal

you should try to be a cop some time you'll see life isn't easy and rose colored

Oh, you're one of those "if people would lock their doors, there's be no thievery" except there is even when doors are locked and there's an alarm system. Better question, who gives a fuck if people do drugs? If it weren't for prohibition, we'd be collecting taxes on the drugs, addiction would be treated like the medical problem it is, our jails wouldn't be full, and cartels wouldn't be making trillions of dollars tax free. Our police are basically security for the drug cartels. I don't think it's worth cops getting shot either.

more like if we enforce laws again and put criminals in jail and keep them there, there will be less crime. jails are empty now

Can't disagree there. Too many of these idiots with lengthy felony records getting out and reoffending. Hell, between cases!

[–]William_World 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

so stop supporting them

I don't know where you're getting that from. Maybe you are the one watching too much MSM and thinking there are only two sides to any argument. No knock warrants are stupid. Do your police business in the light of day.

[–]William_World 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

no knock is good, it's stupid to warn criminals

[–]RR_2023 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

They do, sometimes. But not enough resources for this.

[–]Drewski[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

No knock is more dangerous for police exactly because of instances like this. Defending yourself and family is a reasonable response to a bunch of strangers busting into your house unannounced.

[–]William_World 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Better to stop criminals

[–]UncleWillard56 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Except when they don't know it's cops and defend themselves...like in this case. Again, civil rights shouldn't be thrown out the window over drugs. It's not like drug dealers are forcing drugs down anyone's throats. These people are seeking them out and paying for something despite the laws prohibiting it (same as with Prohibition and with the same, 100% negative results). End the War on Drugs period. Legalize, tax, regulate. There's no other way to get our arms around drugs/addiction and we see that kicking in doors, violating civil rights, killing drug dealers/addicts isn't really the solution.

this is a rare case

stop supporting blm

[–]UncleWillard56 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I don NOT support blm. I do support common sense law enforcement though. This puts the cops in as much danger as the criminals. I'd rather see War on Drugs money going to address some of the other root causes instead of straight into cartel hands.
