There needs to be something between "prison" and "freedom" for people like this.

I feel conflicted on this story. On the one end, what he did was clearly very wrong. On the other end, he's a pants-on-head retarded-as-fuck teenager. You can even hear his "Rain Man voice" while getting arrested. That's how you know this is Florida; they always give the death penalty or life in prison to the mentally ill.

It's weird they frame the title as if the teacher is in the "wrong" for not asking her attacker to get a lesser sentence when he's a 6'6", 270 pound literal retard who beat the shit out of her cause she told him to stop playing Mario Kart. Thirty years in prison is fucking excessive! Pedos get less than that (sadly.) This guy definitely needs to be kept away from the public, but in a mental asylum, not in prison.

What's the point of having a juvenile system when it can be arbitrarily applied? The way it should work is that you are informed before your crime that you will be treated as an adult.

Whoever made up this legal system was as much of a monkey as the guy pounding the teacher.

I don't know whether teachers are allowed to confiscate property, but if that's not the case, he should just be set free.
