That's actually pretty clever of the cops. No wonder some lefty activist "watchdog" group is upset.

Tell a bunch of violent commie terrorists to disperse from a residential neighborhood where they're harassing everyone, and they'll throw rocks at you. Tell them some right-wing boogieman is over by city hall, and they'll run there are fast as they can to go fight dem ol Proud Boys.

It appears unlikely, however, that anyone will face punitive actions.

Haha, for what? Tricking a bunch of thugs who were eavesdropping on police radios? It's amusing to see politicians and political activists, i.e. professional liars, be upset because that the police weren't giving away their entire game plan on the radio.

At the very least, it would give the actual terrorists a reason to be out there in the streets, to bash the fash . . . instead of the reason they were out there, which was that they were terrorists. A cover story. But sometimes I think glowies do their thing just to stir the pot and see what happens.

Surprised the Guardian reporting on this, but perhaps they regard the "Proud Boys" as a bogeyman/scapegoat that has been worn out.
