georgia is a "stand your ground state", meaning that you have the right to kill someone that is on your property, pretty much.

Yes - which is why I noted, 'hopefully the dogs will be returned to the owner.' I'm not sure dogs are at fault for chewing on an intruder, as that's literally what almost all dogs inately want to do to intruders. That said, there could be a law about overly protective dogs. And after dogs have attacked people in this way, they can be - supposedly - more dangerous. IDK

It's almost as if there should be laws against people breaking into homes, too.

What color were the dogs?

It looks like they were a combination of black, white, and pink. I think dogs are color blind. I adopted a border collie that would start barking when she heard Spanish language on the tv. She was raised in a back yard next to a cut-through where Hispanics would walk. She "learned" that Hispanics are trespassers.
