My favorite place is SLAB CITY, CA, near Niland. Been there a few times. The freest place in America. Mind your own business and have fun however you define it. Very strange place. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HNa2MGF00QE

No water, no gasoline, no electricity, no food, no banking. Cellular service? Again, nope. Folks go to Niland, a few miles out of Slab City for these things.

My first visit, I was looking for an old man my aged mother-in-law grew up liking as teens. Fist folks I found were some teens around a campfire. All homeless. God knows what they ate and drank. Can imagine how the girls got by. But with their help, after a few crazy adventures, I did find old man Phil Koursch and got him to write and later to call my wife's mom. Among the teens, a very pretty blonde attached herself to me. I did not avail myself of the opportunity, but free people are not formal I guess. Maybe I just looked like a guy with a paycheck, I dunno.

Good times.

i understand that they have a natural hot springs pool that you can take a dip in. I have already watched several videos about slab city.

it is said to be an abandoned military base of some sort, now inhabited by tweekers and weirdos, but then that describes half of my neighbors, lol..

9:22 Yes, it is strange in a good way here on the California beach he mentioned in passing. Plus, it's very beautiful, and it doesn't freeze. Some 70+ days in January is a pretty nice feature, and it's rarely over 80 in the summer.

I meant the first of the "strange in a good way places" he didn't feature. But sure, I can see some of the good aspects of the flds.

What's your connection to them, or the attraction?

Lived in Arizona long ago. Knew a former FLDS lady. She went straight SLC Mormon after leaving but had nothing bad to say about the people or the town. Nice lady.

If I had any disagreement with them, it would be about their fake religion. Otherwise, they seem to have come up with pretty functional way to be.

They host an annual armpit festival.

Was just looking at https://beardstyle.net/walrus-mustache/ to see what to do about this newish thing on my face, and am now wondering about their armpit hairstyle contest.
