This man Darwin'd off the planet. I'm a 2A supporter, I support open carry. I don't support moronic behaviour.

If it is true that this man simply wanted to practice open carry as a secondary to his blm support, he should have understood his environment much better. The man knew he was attending a protest. The man knew (we know this from his own commentary) that some number of people oppose the protest--he called those people pussies who hated the protestors. So he goes into a charged environment, claiming to have a secondary task of supporting a Constitutional right. Ok, maybe not the best time to mix and match, but whatever, it can be done if you do a little thinking.

Speaking of thinking, he didn't do any. My biggest problem is how he carried the firearm. If his purpose was to support 2A, he should have had carried the firearm in a crossbody, weak or strong-side sling position. Again, if the point is to just say hey, I have this right to bring my firearm outside, no need for any aggressive stance. But many pictures and video show him carrying in tactical and alert positions. Tactical and Alert positions are far more intimidating than say, a weak-side sling, barrel down position.

I guarantee you, had he approached the car in a weak-side sling position and the driver still fired on him, that driver would already be charged with a crime, likely some level of murder.

This imbecile, who I'm supposed to believe supports 2A, showed zero common sense and zero discipline. He's dead because he was larping as some kind of street commando. I have sympathy for him and for his family. It has to suck to die and to lose a loved one to larping.

And as a side note, he also showed that he was lying about supporting 2A. He clearly used a show of force. If his intention was to support 2A, he would have focused on the importance of not getting involved or escalating any kind of aggression. He would want to make open carry look safe and non-threatening. He was carrying that weapon because he was playing soldier and loving the attention. This is one of the DUMBEST reasons to open carry.

He's not the only person to make this type of open carry mistake. Some say he's a good guy, a Libertarian. Who fucking cares what his political orientation is. I can find video after video from people across the political spectrum, making similar mistakes--Foster just happens to have died because of it.

This man is not to be admired or followed, he is to be pitied and used as an example of what not to do. His mother and all those who loved him now suffer...and for what? So he could play commando, name call his opponents and point a 7.62mm rifle at a person using their car...on a road. I know, what an odd place for a car.

Edit: If you are a blm supporter OR you are heading to ANY protest and feel the need to support 2A at the same time:

  1. If you are carrying a rifle, go with a sling position. I recommend crossbody, muzzle down <--Won't wear your arms out.
  2. Know your environment. Are you in Syria, or in Blue-ass Austin Texas. (choose your carry position accordingly)
  3. Never point at anything you do NOT intend to shoot.
  4. Know that your open carry is no smarter than telegraphing a punch. The enemy sees it coming and can plan for it.
  5. If you find yourself in the position of Foster, let your last words be, I'm an idiot, do not follow. If you can't save your own life, save another.

I've only seen the one video, and heard the 4 or five shots from his rifle first..

However, the MO for democrats and their enforcement teams like antifa/BLM is to portray anyone not stopping or sitting in a car as hostile while peaceful protesters bash the vehicle. I think this guy was looking to be the "hero" and stop "a white supremacist" from running over "innocent people".

This guy in the car got off because he's in Texas, but you better believe he now has multiple media organizations scouring through everything he's ever said or wrote online. And if that event occurred in Virginia or Pennsylvania, or some other Democrat stronghold, they'd be looking to fry that guy.

I think if you're sitting in the car in that situation, a wise assumption is that you will at some point end up on an al-qaeda style video where antifa/BLM/democrat holds you hostage for your white guilt. Protect yourself first.

No amount of muzzle awareness or tactical training is gonna change the fact that if your displaying a firearm as part of a mob, you are a hostile threat. Mob/herd mentality and rational thought are difficult to maintain in that situation, especially since your actively participating in a protest whose members stand for anarchy and destruction of the U.S.. The guy should've probably dropped anyone standing within 5 feet of that ak47.

Would you feel the same way about those lockdown protestors in Michigan that walked into the capitol building and were photographed in those same stances had they been shot? Honestly, it's a pretty standard stance for any sort of 2A protest. Just searching protesters holding guns returns mostly guys in the same stance.

Here is how I feel about open carry.

  1. It makes the person in open carry the first target. It's basically only useful in a combat environment where the enemy is expecting arms no matter what.

  2. If a person insists on open carry to support 2A, I do not care what their political background is, please make the rest of us gun owners look sane. Learn the sling arms positions and carry in one of those. If you are in open carry for anything other than a combat purpose, sling arms should suffice.

Political orientation has exactly nothing to do with my position, larping happens across the board. In short, if you aren't carrying due to a known and expected threat, please don't choose an aggressive stance--every 2A supporter will benefit.

I wonder if they will charge all the people who gave false statements to the cops to try to get him falsely prosecuted.

b-b-but I thought Garrett was a good boy and did nothing wrong?? The news told me he was just pushing his disabled BIPOC gf's wheelchair and was shot for no reason??

Fortunately Foster was white, and being a violent thug who died attacking people isn’t on its own enough to become a BLM martyr.

The only thing this guy did wrong was stopping after the first attacker.

Can't wait for Fednetizen, sudd3nclar1ty, and the rest of the astroturfing strawmanning shitlibs to come here and antagonize any law-abiding white citizen who expresses concern over this.

I'm honored to make it on your radar! Especially after your mask slipped on that last post lol...two things.

On 2A, the problem with having streets awash in guns is that fearful idiots end up using them.

On Garrett, when someone uses a car to plow through a crowd, we call it assault with a deadly weapon. Chicken shit tactic the far right shares with Al Qaeda. But for the driver's actions that night, Garrett would still be alive.

You're right. Useful bit of footage. You can clearly see he was just some normal driver who got mobbed by rioters and then panicked.

    [–][deleted] 5 insightful - 3 fun5 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 3 fun -  (2 children)

also, just get out of the road, if someomne gets hit it's an unfortunate accident but avoidable. Go protest on the sidewalk. You have the right to protest but not in the road.

    [–]GConly 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Yeah. Protest in a park, camp outside the courthouse.

    Don't play with traffic.

    [–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

this is agitprop. Agitating. Make regular people's lives a little harder by making them wait in traffic which everyone hates. I get it but really it's a poor strategy because it'll make more vote Trump. Unless that is the real goal. I bet Soros likes tax breaks.

He ran the red light through the crowd, the barriers and the cruisers with flashing lights using his car like a deadly weapon. Then freaked out and opened fire within seconds. Indefensible idiocy.

If cops had been in his way, he'd be dead for assaulting officers.

I want what you’re smoking because you are so far from reality you can make up any comfortable truth you want!

Well I wouldn't get too full of yourself, he doesn't hate you enough to create a sub dedicated to you apparently. Sorry to tell you, but you're just 2nd rate.

    [–]FediNetizen 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Was it antagonizing when you were being told you were wrong when you said he fired at the driver before? Personally, I think calling someone an "astroturfing strawmanning shitlib" because they're an anti-racist is antagonizing, but hey that's just me.

But honestly, the only thing that "concerns" me is that you looked at those two photos and concluded he was pointing at the driver. You have a clear photo of his stock on the left, and you can see the stock on the right. You can also see that's it's still pointed down, and his hold looks very similar to this one, or this one.

Like, how do you look at those photos and not see the rifle is pointed down?

I feel sorry for his wife... That's it.

They are a bunch of Larpers who've watched too much TV. What did he think was going to happen?

I suspect he had a death wish, must suck when only girl you can get has no arms or legs. It is tough for men out there today.

    [–]GConly 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

If he'd cared about that girl the second there looked like a crowd crush involving a car was beginning he should have started wheeling her away.
