YouTube Update: Only Certified News Channels Will Be Authorized to Cover the Topic. Video doesn't mention Wuhan virus because that's a trigger word for censorship. I hate this world where tech giants dominate us and decide what we can say.

Something I have wondered: If someone watches a video on Invidious, does that view count on the creator's video viewcount on YT?

I wondered the same thing. My dislike of what youtube is doing to creators of content is enough to make me overlook any guilt I feel about not giving my views to those whose efforts I admire. Let them ditch youtube and post on invidious so we can finally forget youtube.
