Makes me think, looking back at history civil wars often have better results for progress and the establishment of rights than revolutions which only target a small number of the elite.

The fact is there's a huge number of people supporting the establishment who maintain the status quo and will just reestablish that a couple of years down the road if you don't challenge them.

I guess people are more likely to meaningfully work together after a horrible civil war as well.

The elites have a total confidence in their police and army. Nothing can go wrong, or...?
