All the exiled Zimbabwean farmers I've met in London have actually been mixed race. That's what counts a white in Africa in many of these stories but it gets misinterpreted by the western media or sometimes they know what's meant but they actually purposely find the one 99% white farmer and put his picture on the piece. And they all very much identify as white Africans not as European or expats or whatever westerners tend to view them as.

Basically anyone with land was targeted, it was just theft by the ruling elite and they said they were taking land back off evil rich white people to justify it.

Plenty of rich and middle class black people got killed and exiled too.

Some of the white farmers got invited to other African counties to bring their money and knowledge with them and are doing quite well for themselves. So there were some happy endings.
