going to a court to get an order FIRST is part of the due process - that IS what is being discussed (CONTEXT of what Trump said )

Trump isnt saying police can just show up and take guns without a whole process FIRST

as usual it helps to hear more of whats neing said

Mike Pence was speaking about due process. Trump interrupted and gave an alternate plan, beginning with "Or by.... take the firearms first and then go to court."

taking them from those who have had family members or other witnesses declare they herad the persons say they were going to use their guns to harm others or themselves
